On November 7, local visual and performance artist Thomas Anfield will host an artist’s salon at the Petley Jones Gallery. Inspired by the French tradition of the 18th century, Petley Jones gallery owner Matt Petley-Jones decided to shake up the local art scene by holding a salon, something not typically done in Vancouver.

The idea behind the salon was to create a new way for the general public to interact with local artists. The salon is free and the public is welcome to attend. Salon host Thomas Anfield, a local visual and performance artist, will be present to give a talk about art and speak about Monkey Land, his current exhibit.

Anfield is a well-traveled artist whose work has been exhibited internationally. A former graffiti artist who rose to prominence throughout Canada in late 1980s, he has embraced various styles of art from street to more traditional forms. His artwork has been part of numerous international solo and group exhibitions throughout North America and Africa.

Come participate in the dialogue, share your thoughts and participate in Vancouver's art scene in a new and different way.
